States

Every state asks for something different.

Some count days, some count hours, some count neither. Some want a portfolio and an evaluator, some a notarized affidavit. Home Scholar asks you only for what your state does, dates each deadline from your own filings, and shows the statute beside it.

Florida Ready The home education program and the PEP scholarship. A notice of intent, a log kept as you go, a portfolio held for two years, and an annual evaluation. No minimum days or hours. Homeschooling in Florida
Pennsylvania Ready A notarized affidavit to your district before each year starts, and 180 days or 900 hours of instruction, 990 from grade 7. Home Scholar counts the days and hours for you, and your portfolio is ready for the evaluator’s review by June 30.

Not in either? Start anyway.

Choose Just keep records and everything else works today: the plan, the pacing, the log, the portfolio, the reading list and the grades. Home Scholar simply stops asking about deadlines it does not know yet.

When your state arrives, switch to it. The year you have already kept comes with you.

How a state is added.

We read the statute and write it down as rules the app follows: what to file, where, and by when. Each one is cited on screen, so you can check our reading against the law yourself. We add states one at a time, in the order families ask for them.
