Built by a homeschool mom who needed it.
Home Scholar was started by Ashley Zych, a homeschool mom of two. Before she built anything, she tried the homeschool apps that already existed, one after another.
Each did part of the job, and none of them fit the way her family actually learns. She wanted a plan with room to bend when a week went sideways, and a way to log the work as it happened instead of piecing it back together later.
So she built it. Home Scholar is a plan that moves when your family does, a log that fills in as the day goes, and records that are ready when your state asks for them.
What we will not do.
Your records leave with you.
The portfolio packet and your original photos download any time. We keep families by being useful, not by holding a child's education hostage.
No gamified children.
Student mode has no streaks, points, or feeds. Chores are just chores. The motivation belongs to your family, not to our notification system.
Florida first. Then everywhere.
We started where we live, with the statute we know by heart. Pennsylvania came next, and every state after it gets the same treatment: its rules written down for the app to follow, and cited on screen.
