Asked and answered.
The questions parents actually send us, answered without the sales voice. Anything else, write to us.
Is this legal advice?
No. Home Scholar is a records tool. We read each state’s homeschool law, write it down as rules the app follows, and show the statute beside every deadline so you can check our reading yourself. Decisions about your program stay yours.
Which states do you support?
Florida, for both the home education program and the PEP scholarship, and Pennsylvania. More are coming one at a time, in the order families ask for them. Anywhere else, choose Just keep records and use everything but the deadlines.
I forgot to log Tuesday. Is that a problem?
No. Go back to the day, tick off what happened, and add photos after the fact. The record keeps both dates, the day the work happened and the day you logged it, because an honest log says so.
Does the AI write my records for me?
It reads for you, it never writes for you. Photograph a table of contents, a lesson plan or a class schedule and it comes back as a draft, with the parts it is unsure of flagged. Nothing becomes a record until you approve it.
How does my evaluator see the portfolio?
You send a private link that is password protected, watermarked and expiring. The evaluator reviews the year and signs off, and you keep the signed PDF. You can see when the link was opened, and downloading stays off unless you turn it on.
Can another parent or a tutor use it?
Yes. Invite another adult to the household and choose what they can do. A tutor or co-op teacher can be limited to a single child.
Do my kids get accounts?
If you want them to. Student mode turns your phone into a quiet screen of their day, and a gate code brings it back to you. Older children can sign in on their own device to a task board and send you work to review. No feed, no messages, no streaks.
What happens to our records if we leave?
Download the portfolio packet and your original files first; they are yours. Then write to us and we will close the account. Many states expect records kept for years, so if yours does, we will tell you which ones before anything is deleted.
